Verstappen Breaks Vettel's Record with Dominant Victory in Italy

Max Verstappen broke Sebastian Vettel's record of nine consecutive Formula 1 race wins on Sunday, taking his 10th victory in a row at the Italian Grand Prix. The Red Bull driver started from pole position and led from start to finish, fending off challenges from Ferrari's Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz.

Verstappen's victory was a dominant one, as he was never really challenged for the lead. He controlled the race from the front, and even managed to pull away from Leclerc and Sainz in the closing stages.

The victory was the latest in a remarkable run of form for Verstappen, who has now won 16 of the last 21 races. He is now 46 points clear of Leclerc in the Drivers' Championship, and is well on his way to winning his second world title.

The Italian Grand Prix was a frustrating one for Mercedes, who failed to score a podium finish for the first time since the 2020 Bahrain Grand Prix. Lewis Hamilton finished seventh, while George Russell was ninth.

The race was also notable for the retirement of Fernando Alonso, who crashed out on the first lap. The Spaniard is now out of contention for the Drivers' Championship, but he is still hoping to finish the season on a high.

Verstappen's record-breaking victory is a major turning point in the 2023 Formula 1 season. The Dutchman is now the clear favorite to win the title, and he will be looking to extend his winning streak in the coming races.
